What this integration does
When you create an event in Caltimate and switch on Zoom meeting, Caltimate asks Zoom to create a scheduled meeting in your own Zoom account. The join link, meeting ID and passcode are written into that event, so everyone you invite sees them. Delete the event and Caltimate deletes the meeting too.
Adding the app
- Open Caltimate and choose Settings from the menu bar, then the Zoom tab.
- Click Connect Zoom. Your browser opens Zoom’s permission page.
- Sign in with your own Zoom account and click Allow.
- The browser says you are signed in. Go back to Caltimate; the Zoom tab now shows Connected.
Caltimate never asks for your Zoom password. The sign-in happens on Zoom’s own page, and Caltimate keeps only the access token that Zoom hands back.
Using it
- Create an event as usual.
- Switch on Zoom meeting in the event editor.
- Save. The meeting is created in your Zoom account and the join details appear in the event.
Meetings you create this way appear in your own Zoom account under Meetings, exactly as if you had scheduled them there.
Removing the app
To disconnect from Caltimate: open Settings → Zoom and click Disconnect. The token stored on your Mac is deleted.
To revoke access from Zoom’s side: sign in at the Zoom App Marketplace, open Manage → Added Apps, find Caltimate and click Remove. Meetings that already exist are not deleted by removing the app.
Permissions we ask for
- Create a meeting for a user (meeting:write:meeting): to create the meeting when you switch on Zoom meeting for an event.
- Delete a meeting (meeting:delete:meeting): to remove the meeting when you delete the event it belongs to.
We ask for nothing else. Caltimate cannot read your meeting list, your recordings, your chats or your contacts.
What is stored, and where
- The access token Zoom returns is kept in your Mac’s keychain. It never leaves your Mac.
- The join link, meeting ID and passcode are written into the event itself, on your Mac and in the calendar you saved the event to.
- Nothing is sent to Caltimate servers. We run no server that sees your Zoom data.
If something goes wrong
If a meeting is not created, open Settings → Zoom and click Reconnect Zoom. If it still fails, please tell us through the contact form and we will look into it.
